Few folks know that the power supply unit that comes with computer cases is important for maintaining air flow (and therefore reducing heat build up) in a computer. Most of the components in a PC produce heat. The hot air due to this heat moves upwards to the power supply. Now the power supply fans will help to draw out the hot air and expel it to the exterior, keeping the computer cool. So when you're selecting a computer case, ensure
that the power supply has good ventilation slots on the side to allow hot air to
get out. 2. Avoid Old Cases For New Components
One tip to remember is this - you should always avoid using old computer cases
for new computer parts. Usually, if I'm upgrading my PC to a new motherboard, I
will change the computer case as well. The reason is that PC cases move along
with motherboard technology. An old case may not have the heat dissipation
capability required to cool new components. 3. Open Up Some Holes If you have a PC case, it can be a
good idea to open up some holes to increase ventilation in the computer.
Alright, this isn't exactly on topic for this article, but I thought I'd include
it anyway because some folks really do perform this trick to increate cooling in
there systems. 4. Install Some Fans
Make sure that the computer case allows for installation of
several fans. Antec computer cases are well known for having ample space for
fans. You can check out some deals on branded computer cases at this link
When installing a fan, its best to place them near places on the
case where there are ventilation holes. This allow heat to be expelled to the
exterior. 5. Organize Those Cables
This tip should be applied to all computers that
are built. I've seen too many computer where the cables in the computer are
messy. Messy cables encourage heat build-up in the computer. Go get some cable
ties and start tying up those components today! besides, your PC will look much
better. Conclusion Hopefully, the above tips will help you to choose a case that will prevent overheating in a computer. These points are especially important if you intend to overclock your CPU or other components. Related ArticlesYou may also wish to read the following related articles:
