3 Tips For Improving Your Wireless Network

I run a wireless network at home and one of the things I've learnt is that you can easily improve the range and speed of the router.

How do you do this? Well, there are several ways - let's look at them now.

1. Relocate your router - one of the first things you can do is to place your wireless router in a central place at the ground floor. Make sure it is as high off the ground as possible.

2. Upgrade your cards - if you buy extended-range wireless cards, you can definitely get more speed and range. Try to go for wireless-G cards, which are faster than the older wireless-B cards.

3. Use a range extender - you can invest in a range extender to repeat wireless signals from your existing router. Try to place halfway between the main router and the new area that needs coverage.
